Welcome to House of Handmade — a thoughtfully curated retail and creative space in Melbourne that celebrates the talents of Australian artists, makers, and designers. We are like a miniature version of the Finders Keepers market, but we’re open six days a week, offering consistent access to handcrafted jewellery, candles, prints, baby gifts, toys, and one-of-a-kind Australiana souvenirs, all made or designed by local creatives.
As an official Australian Made Retail Supporter, we’re passionate about authenticity, sustainability, and creativity. Our shelves reflect the rich diversity and ingenuity of over 90 Australian makers, each with a story worth sharing.
But we’re more than just a retail store. Our workshop space buzzes with hands-on craft parties, engaging kids’ programs, and inspiring workshops for adults — all designed to spark creativity, nurture skills, and celebrate the joy of making.
We’ve selected a small range of products for delivery here on the website. Many of our items are one-offs, so if you spot something on Instagram or in-store, just get in touch — we’re happy to arrange delivery whenever possible. We hope browsing inspires you to shop handmade or dive into crafting yourself.

After more than a decade in investment banking, I stumbled upon the mindful magic of crochet during maternity leave with my son. That first hook and loop led me to markets filled with passionate, creative makers, and eventually to House of Handmade, which I was honoured to take over in 2021.
Since then, I’ve poured my heart into growing this space into a vibrant hub for over 90 Aussie makers, expanding our offerings to include craft workshops, creative kids’ parties, and community-driven events. We’ve been lucky to be featured in the press and on Channel 9’s Postcards, all while staying true to our commitment to craft, community, and connection.
Kerny, Anne, and I are makers ourselves, and we understand the love, time, and heart that goes into every handmade item. Whether you're picking out a gift, joining a workshop, or just browsing for inspiration, we’re here to help you discover something beautiful.
